Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Recent Acts Of Kindness 11th - 18th July 2023.

Recent acts of kindness: 1) Made peace with situations that caused me pain in the distant past by forgiving those that hurt me and forgiving myself because we were young and it's OK to make mistakes when you're young and don't know any better. 2) Gave a few ladies at my sewing group a laminated lucky clover. 3) Supported the lady who organises the sewing courses by purchasing goods at her shop such as fabrics and sewing equipment. 4) Bought fresh fruit and veg from the local farmer's shop. Also bought a cool handcrafted handbag with love and peace symbols from the 70's. (The decade I was born in ;-)) 5) Bought my cat healthy tinned cat food with a high meat content as opposed to being filled with cereals or sugar. 6) Bought my cat eco-friendly cat litter made from sustainably-harvested plant fibres which are soft on his paws. Yes, I have spoiled him but ... Read Full Story >>

Fresh Vegan Banana Bread To Phlebotomists

I will be visiting Red Cross this morning to make a platelet donation in honor of a friend who is often in need of platelets himself. After hearing about a recent transfusion that he needed, I realized that I hadn't been doing my part as of late. I used to go about twice a month, but have fallen behind:(. The phlebotomists up there are so kind that I decided to do something for them. Of course, for me that's bake:). So I made some fresh (vegan) banana bread this morning, which wife and daughter also appreciated<3.

Listen With Our Hearts And Honor Others Stories

Listen With Our Hearts He would arrive each morning at the pro shop I worked at. He would tell me stories about his wife, and I would listen. She was ill and in declining health and he was dealing with the loss of her companionship in the things they used to do together that she could no longer do. He spoke of his love and pride in his wife and their life together and then his grief when she was gone. After her passing he continued to arrive as usually and talk about her, and I continued to listen, not giving much thought what that might have meant to him. Then one day he reached across the counter and held my hands. He told me that he had been thinking of me, complimenting me on how I was with the customers of the pro shop and the way I interacted with ... Read Full Story >>

Knitting for a Charity Shop

I've been struggling a bit this week which is why I've not been on here much. However, I've been making several knitting projects for the Hospice's craft stall for their charity shop. Here's two of the finished characters - although I've knitted similar before these have differences from the original ones.

Kindness and compassion in action

Kindness to a ederly woman: An elderly woman came to me. She held a tub of rice requesting for more. I looked around in my shop and found an open rice bag. I took 2 hands full of rice and gave to her. Her face glowed like a lamp. She remembered me because I had helped her last time too. She mentioned that last time my shop had been in another location. I said yes. It just costs around 10 INR for the rice given. With just little cost, her face glowed like a lamp. I understood many kind acts require little money only. Kindness to Medium Sized Living Being: When I went to the rest room I found a finger sized living being. Mother generally kills it. So, I went to the hall and brought a paper. I used paper and it climbed on the paper. I moved it to ... Read Full Story >>

Sharing Homemade Scones

Today's acts of kindness include:
1) Making home-made scones for my sewing group and taking along some nice jam and clotted cream (which is hard to get over here in Europe) to go along with them.
2) Gifting some lucky clover to a few ladies in my sewing group.
3) Giving a lady in my sewing group some 1 cent coins for her "speciality". See my latest post.
4) Looking out some 1 cent coins for her and giving them a good dunk in bircarbonate of soda to give them a good shine. I will leave the "pennies" at my sewing group for the lady next time I go there.
5) Setting up a new Kindspring challenge which deals with the topic of reducing our ecological footprint. Maybe you might care to take part in it? If so, please see below ;-)

Kindness To Stranger πŸ™‚

I saw so many pigeons eating food infront of our shop. I am amazed after watching nature. Then it started raining. I felt awesome. Now a good kindness opportunity knocked my door. A Stranger is waiting under tree as it is raining. I invited him to come under our building. He came. I started chatting with him. He said he is looking for rented room. I asked about his family. I asked his name. I gave 10 minutes of my time to the stranger. Kindness doesn't need money many times. I just gave my time. Finally, I gave a smile and he went awayπŸ™

Yoo Hoo! Meet Bruno from animal shelter

Yoo hoo! Meet Bruno - the rescue cat that I have officially adopted and given a new home! When I said "kissies on your head" at the animal shelter lately and he nudged up to me accepting them, I knew he was the right cat for me!

And he came home on Saturday and has settled in pretty well though he loves playing, scampering about and disaraying the rugs at 3 a.m.. Lol! Do not know his history other than that he was found in a city neighbourhood and his teeth were in bad shape (plaque and four had to be removed).

Have any of you got any pets from the animal shelter?

Kindness Journey To California

Kindness Journey to California My son and his wife gave me a ride to the DCA airport. He checked baggage and paid the baggage charge and fare as well. He requested a wheelchair for me for going to the gate comfortably. A few days ago, my son applied and got a Known Traveler Number from TSA Precheck. This allowed me to scan carry bag and laptop only. No need to remove shoes, belt, watch, wallet or anything else on me. I am grateful to my son for all his love, care and help extended to me. I gave a quote card and a tip to the wheelchair assistant. Gave some quote cards to airhostesses, cracked jokes and told Fatemah story. Gave quote cards to a passenger seated next to me. Told Fatemah story, intense positive thinking story, talked about KindSpring and also gave name of the positive thinking books. For the first time, I ... Read Full Story >>

My Neighbor

My neighbor across the street moved into assisted living. Missy May’s human wanted one of the chairs the neighbor was giving away, so we kept it on our porch until she could get it. I went and visited with the neighbor who moved as her family packed stuff up. Her facility is close by and we have plans to visit next week. Missy Mae’s human has already visited her. We will keep out neighbor friendships going.
Begonia got some toys from a local toy maker and received this card.

πŸ’• Celebrating The Love!

Due to a variety of reasons, MisterM and I decided to share the LOVE πŸ’•of our 46th wedding anniversary by doing something different to celebrate.

We gave origami flowers with inspirational centers - sort of like fortune flowers 🌸, instead of fresh roses, which had gotten outrageously expensive!

The folks we gave the origami flowers to - mostly tourists (we live in a popular vacation area), were thrilled to receive, some sharing their own anniversary stories. One couple was even on their honeymoon.

With the savings, we then donated to St. Joseph’s Indian School, who encourages and supports Native American children through education, development, nutrition, leadership, sports and play.

Grateful for each precious year and the LOVE πŸ’• that connects us ALL! Blessed and grateful πŸ™.

*A special thank you to the kind friend for the PEACE wind chime gift and tea bag quotes.

Kindness To Stranger, Customer And Earth 🌎

A Stranger requested for help. He went to my neighbour's shop and he failed to get his work done. He came to me. He wanted to weigh the metal coil. I agreed to his request. I switched on the weighing machine. He placed the coil. It was around 15 kg. He was happy that I accepted his request.

A customer came to my shop. I asked him to pay 1350 INR. He said he didn't have money to pay for the vegetables. He paid 1300 INR instead. If he had paid more we would have made a good profit. But he was in a bad condition. So, I took 50 INR less.

I switched off the fan and sat infront of the shop. I enjoyed cool air. I did Earth kindness because I switched off fan and saved energy.

Kindness Bingo

Hello everyone.
On my last trip to our Dollar Store (a store that carries low priced items ranging from cards and decorations to food and kitchen cleaners and utensils),
i noticed a Kindness challenge for school children for sale.
One of the 'challenges' was to "apologize to someone that you said something mean to"
- there were many items on the paper, this was only the first one that I am able to recall..... maybe it was called Kindness Bingo?? -

anyway, this got me thinking... how can I incorporate this or something like it, for adults??  can I bring it in to my job and get people involved ??
I will go back to the store and buy it and see what other ideas/challenges are listed.

hugs, hugs and love to you all !!!

Kindness Rocks! 😊

Our CRAFTERNOON Kindness Crew has been painting rocks for the last weeks. It’s been a FUN experiment in creativity, materials and yes, mess!!!

Most of the rocks have an inspirational message that will be perfect for leaving at the hospital’s Healing Garden and around where needed.

Already shared some at the circulation desk for patrons and various folks.

The “Hogs & Kisses” rock is a special request for one of the DMV ladies - they share a connecting room with us a few times a week.

Sure do enjoy sharing our creativity to boost kindness and connection! 🌎 πŸ’• πŸ•ŠοΈ

🌺 My ArborWest is a perfect outdoor workspace - weather permitting. Plan on hosting a CRAFTERNOON event here soon β˜€οΈ.

Keeping Hydrated

We had some outdoor drainage work contracted and today was the day that the workers came. It was a long day for them. They arrived at 8 a.m. and completed the first part of the work at 5 p.m. As the temperatures are rising, I supplied them with extra water bottles kept cold. They took advantage of the offer.
