The Yellow Ribbons
Across the street from my house live an older couple who are raising their 4 grandchildren, 2 of which are 13-year-old girls.
I always by clothes and shoes and most still have tags on them. I always give stuff away and this time a light flashed in my head - the girls across the street . So I filled up 2 hefty trash bags full of shoes, clothes, purses, shampoo, everything. I didn't want to embarass anybody including myself. I like to do things when nobody knows it's me.
So at the crack of dawn, I tied big beautiful yellow ribbons on the bags, went across the street, and put them over the fence. Later that day, the girls were going in and out of the house trying on all the clothes and shoes . It was like a fashion show and they were so excited - laughing and jumping up and down. Seeing those girls so happy was awesome!

Coloring Book And Crayons
This past weekend I was going through my stuff. While doing so, I stumbled upon 3 large boxes of crayons, coloring books and markers. I am a kid at heart, I must confess. They were mine and I had not used them yet.
I decided to take the coloring book and crayons to the laundry mat and waited for a child to give to.
There was a little girl around 4 yrs, sitting while her mother put the clothes in the washer. I went over to her mother and said, "I would like her little girl to have these, along with this smile card." She gladly accepted.
I walked away and was doing my own thing, when the little girl came over and thanked me with a huge smile on her face!
I still need to give the other stuff away and can't wait. I love doing this!

Kind Words At Walmart
While I was at Walmart with my mom, a very young mother came in strolling her little girl. The little girl had been severely burned. Most people stared, whispered or looked away quickly as the young mother tried not to pay attention.
My mom bent down to the little girl in the stroller and said "what a beautiful dress you are wearing" and touched the frilly little dress.
You should have seen the young mother. She was so proud and was beaming with a huge smile. We walked away, as she said, "thank you so much" to my mom with her full heart.

High Noon For The Blues
High Noon For The Blues By Lance Landall Everything was going fine, ’till the blues rolled into town, Holsters packed with surly clouds, ready to bring a man down. Heavy boots strode ’cross my mind, pausing, intimidating, Yes, misery at the ready, success anticipating. Demons clothed in black, faces masked by shadows — halted there, Defiant and menacing, sneering too — provoking fear. Yes, the blues looking for victims had chosen to visit me, Just spoiling for a showdown — a duel, emotionally. Suddenly a voice rang out, “You ain’t got no business here, Just turn about, saddle up, and high-tail it out of here. My names Sheriff Positive, I’m in charge of this terrain, And I ain’t letting no blues, trample over this ole brain.” “Just take those mean ole clouds away, and all your ballyhoo, And never come back, ya hear, we don’t want the likes of you. Emotionally you’re draining, yes, ... Read Full Story >>

The Pick-Me-Up BackPack
For the past month I have been down, which is not like me. I'm uncertain about my relationship, you know how that is.
Anyways, to try and get myself out of a funk, I decided to get a brand new back pack and fill it up with all sorts of neat things Pencils, note pads, t-shirts a purse and other stuff.. When I got done it was stuffed. I put a note that said free along with one of my smile cards. I took it downstairs and left it in the laundry room for somebody to take.
I don't know about the person receiving it but it sure put a smile on my face.

Kindness is Contagious
Today my mom called and said how sad it was when people seem to avoid or ignore people in wheelchairs. While at the grocery store she saw a young gentleman in a electric wheelchair looking around trying to make eye contact with somebody. My mother said many ignored the man and didn't seem to want to look at him.
She walked over to him and asked if she could help him with anything and apparently he couldn't reach something down on the very bottom shelf. My mom asked what had happened to him and he said a car accident had left him paralyzed from the waist down. After a little bit of chatting, mom continued her own shopping.
At the checkout counter she saw the man pushing his cart from the wheel chair to the line. A women who had witnessed my mom and what she had done continued the kindness and put all his groceries on the conveyor and another person saw that and put everything in a bag for him. How cool is that.

Your Mind Is Like A Garden
Your mind is like a garden,
Whatever you plant will grow,
Your thoughts are seeds you're planting,
They each need water and light to show
So don't plant seeds of lack or fear,
Disease, discord, or doubt
Plant, instead, the seeds you want
Then things you want will sprout
This gift of choice is given to all,
And not to just a few
The harvest, friend, is in your hands
The crop depends on you
So take this power which you've been given,
And use it every day,
To gain from life the good you want,
For you have found the way.

One
One One song can soothe a moment, One flower can bloom into a dream One tree can sprout a forest, One bird can herald spring. One smile begins a friendship, One handclasp can lift a soul, One star can guide a ship at sea, One word can frame the goal. One vote can change a nation, One sunbeam lights a room, One candle wipes out darkness, One laugh will conquer gloom One hope will raise our spirits, One touch can show you care. One voice can speak with wisdom, One heart can know what's true. One life can make the difference, You see it's up to You! - Author unknown ... Read Full Story >>

Water
I live in an apartment. While downstairs waiting for my boyfriend, I saw an elderly women with a shopping cart. I then looked away and was in my own thoughts. I could hear her walking up the stairs stopping and trying to catch her breath. I looked and saw her cart was packed with 1 gallon water jugs. I jumped up and grabbed two and carried them upstairs. She wanted to come down and help me but I told her no.
I must have carried 20 gallons up and down the stairs. She kept on thanking me, but it was my pleasure. I truly believe that what goes around comes around and if my parents or grandparents ever need help. Somebody will be there to help with a smile on there face.

Unexpected Surprise On A Doorstep
Today I received a coupon in the mail for a FREE 6 pound bag of cat food. Since my Feline Sasha is very picky, I knew I would not be able to use it.
I have a neighbor a couple doors down who does have a cat. My neighbor does not have a car, so he usually rides his bike and takes the bus when he needs to go somewhere. So, I decided to go to Petco and bring the bag of cat food home. I just left it at his door with a Smile card. I know he will appreciate it.

A Heart of Cheer
it takes a cheerful heart...
and loving life and living it
each day is a brand new start.
It takes a positive attitude
when struggles come our way...
to have the strength to carry on
and let the pains wilt away
Life is our creation,
for the time that we are here...
so craft your days with a cheerful heart
and see miracles appear.

Hugs are Arms with Love
A hug is two arms
Wrapped around you tight,
A hug is a squeeze
in the middle of the night.
A hug is a sign
Of affection and love,
A hug is a sign
From the heavens above.
A hug is a thing
That everyone needs,
When you give a hug
You plant a seed.
The seeds of hope
And love and joy,
Belong to every man,
Woman, girl and boy.
Here is a Great Big Panda Bear Hug from me to you!
