Coffee With A Professor
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite -- telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. Complaint-Free Zone
A couple of months ago I received an email about this church who was on a mission to provide people with a challenge to stop complaining.. They were making these purple bracelets that had stamped on them "Complaint Free"and sending them out to anyone who requested them.. The challenge was to see if you could go a whole month without complaining. What you were supposed to do was to wear the bracelets around your wrist and every time you find yourself complaining you would have to switch the bracelet to the opposite wrist. The idea behind was that if people were more conscious about how much they complained that eventually after switching the bracelet many times it would become a habit not to complain and therefore each person would be nicer to be around and we would all have a nicer village in which to live. Down In The Dumps
Very recently, I have had to move from my home and have been living in a hotel room with my son who is 17, my sister and her two children ages 4 and 8.
Times have been hard and I have been still going to work and pretending every day that it is no big deal, that we will get through this. But today I was really down until I logged on to this site .... and read everyone's stories! It just brightened up my day.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and everyone for their acts of kindness.
Even though times are hard for me right now, I am still going everyday to help my mother who has colon cancer and try to help others with their problems. Compared to some others, my problems are not so terrible.
Thanks for reminding me.

Unconditional Compassion of an Animal Keeper
We have been living in a hotel for the past couple of months and this hotel allows pets inside of the rooms. My son, who is an animal lover, tries to make sure that all of the animals in the hotel are taken care of because this is what he loves to do. Last night, he noticed that a dog was locked up in a car that was parked at the hotel. He went to the hotel office to see what he could do to find the owner of the car and of course they could not give out personal information. So, Michael took it upon himself to stay outside with the dog to make sure it was okay in the car.
