Quiet Acts Of Kindness In Her Hour of Sorrow
I work at a Care Center where most of the people are elderly. About a year and a half ago a 59 year-old lady came to us who had cancer. She had to have her right leg amputated and she didn't have a family to take care of her after the operation. This lady was a quiet lady who mostly stayed to herself. But in the afternoons, when she was feeling well, she would go visit the other residents in the home. She would visit a lady who was blind and read to her. She would go into the room of a young girl with severe cerebral palsy and sing to her. In her quiet gentle way, she would go about the Care Center doing good. Act Quickly on Good Intentions
Last week I was asked to go open the church for one of our members. It was a good warm day, so I decided to walk.
On the way home I had to pass the home of a neighbor that I knew was in the last stage of cancer. I decided to stop and see how the family was doing.
That was on Monday. Friday the neighbor passed away. That made me realize how important it is to act upon those good intentions we have in our hearts.

Words Of Kindness
One of the best ways to make someone smile is to give words of appreciation and gratitude. People seem to gravitate to people who can make others feel good.
Have you ever went to visit with someone and before you left they said, "Thank you for coming, I so enjoy your visits." Doesn't that make you feel better. To thank others for a well done job, is also a way of showing kindness.
I like to talk to others and give them a small compliment of thank you and leave a smile card. It doesn't take any extra time, and it makes the world a better place.

Another time, I was at a meeting once were we were asked to stand and put on a robe. I was having trouble tying my robe and it was taking me longer than the others in the meeting. There was a lady behind me, that I noticed had finished with her robe, but she didn't sit down as all the other had done. It ... Read Full Story >>
