The World is Full of Good People

A while back I was on a visit to Indore, a busy commercial city in  India. One eevning, while taking a walk, I noticed a young boy of maybe 13/14 yrs old.  He could barely walk on account of his bowed-type legs, he certainly wasn't able to walk quickly. I could see that he was desperately waiting to cross the road.  This particular road was a highway and it was very busy.   I approached him on my way and asked him whether he needed any help. Rupees Or Bananas

The other day I was in Manipal (Karnataka, India) to see my daughter safely into a hostel.

On coming out  from a hotel after having breakfast I noticed a girl; under-priviledged, about ten years old, and crying. I was overcome with sympathy.

No sooner did I put my hand in my pocket than my wife told me not to give any money. Instead she suggested I buy some food, either from the hotel or from the nearby fruit shop, and offer that to her. She knew that in many cases the money these children begged for ended up with the adults who control them.

I gave the money to my daughter, who bought some bananas and gave them to the girl.

Straight away we noticed many children and also a lady gathering around to share the bananas. The money probably wouldn't have helped the child, but the food helped her, and others!

So my request to all is, if possible buy good food to give to the needy rather than offering money. And it would be even better to give them love and affection.
