Spoilt Myself With Some Musical
Spoilt myself with some love and took myself on the weekend to see the musical Wicked for the very first time. Loved it. Was incredible.
Whilst there saw a few opportunities for kindness and took advantage.
Helped a beautiful couple in their 80's (who like myself) were confused and unsure whether the show was finished or it were an interval found venue stuff to tell us. It was an interval. Funny moment as we both nearly went home.
Second opportunity was seeing some young girls setting up a camera with timer taking photos. Walked over to them and asked if they wanted me to take photos for them. They were very grateful.
I hope your weekend has been blessed π

Heβs All Kinds Of Amazing!
β€οΈ Kindness Received....
We were having a problem with our landline phone & called our contractor in the morning to ask if he could come over to see if he could help. He said he’d stop by.
He hadn’t shown up by 5 PM so we figured he had been too busy to fit us in and figured we’d call him the next morning to follow up.
Well to our surprise, our bell rang at 7:30 PM, and guess who…yes, our contractor. He said he’d had a very busy day & totally forgot he’d told us he’d come by and remembered after he’d had his dinner. He lives a few blocks from us, so drove over.
He fixed our problem & refused to let us pay him!! He’s a wonderful craftsman, takes pride in his work, has a great sense of humor & a hard worker. We thanked him profusely & plan on sending him a gift certificate to a local top-notch restaurant ππ»
π€ He left with a big hug from me.
He's all kinds of Amszing!!

I Made This Hanging Decoration
I made this hanging for my daughter and partner who are moving to new accommodation in a couple of weeks on Friday at my breast cancer support group. I gave it to my daughter yesterday when we met them in Durham.

Strangers No More!
β€οΈ The kindness of a stranger…. Yesterday a longtime friend we hadn’t seen in many years visited with us. She recently lost her husband of over 40 years & was getting herself out in the world, visiting friends & some family she hadn’t seen in a long time. She grew up in a beachfront community not far from us & wanted us to to take a drive there to see the house where she grew up. We pulled up in front of the house and she got out to take some pictures & decided to ring the bell and see if anyone might be home. The owner was indeed there, a truly lovely woman who had bought the home from my friend’s parents almost 50 years ago. She invited my friend in & showed her all around the house. They were in there quite some time & when they came out my friend ... Read Full Story >>

Turkey Trio For Homeless Person
I noticed a homeless man sitting outside my local grocery store. I asked him what I could get him to eat, and he smiled and asked me for a turkey sandwich. I went inside and got him a Turkey sandwich, and picked up a drink and some chips too. When I brought it out to him, I told him he can’t just have a turkey sandwich, he needs the trio! He laughed and smiled. I have seen him again since, and I always buy him his turkey trio. His name is Daniel, and he has a beautiful smile. π

Showing Appreciation
π¦· Dentist Appreciation …. After a very recent tooth extraction my husband had, our new dentist called that evening to see how he was doing & shared his cell phone number in case he might need to get in touch. We were very impressed with his caring. β€οΈ It meant a lot, especially after the recent retirement of our beloved dentist of over 25 years & the anxiety of starting with a new unknown dentist. π¦· When hubby saw a book, reviewed in The NY Times, titled “Bite, A History of Teeth” he bought it for our new dentist & gifted it to him , with a really lovely inscription he wrote inside, letting him know how pleased we are with him. He was visibly moved & thanked us from his heart β€οΈ He knew we were anxious about starting with a new dentist & impressed me, when meeting us for the first time, assured ... Read Full Story >>

Received Help
I find myself on the receiving end of kindness again. A new friend left me a delicious dinner. Then she bought me a book. Finally she drive me 30 miles to see a new doctor.
My health has again turned on me . I need surgery on my plumbing to counteract gravity
Several tests are needed first. Sigh..

Many thoughtful acts of kindness
Picked cherry tomatoes from the backyard and gifted to a colleague (have been doing this almost every day now! at least 7 colleagues have been recipients!)
Collected essential household supplies from my neighbors to donate to a local shelter and dropped them off after work today...the folks there were so happy it made my day!
Picked up a favorite baked item for hubby from a bakery near work to surprise him
Wrote postcards to get out the vote and phone banked over the weekend to help register voters
Wrote letter of recommendations for three students for graduate programs
Donated to public radio station and had a nice conversation with the phone volunteer
Thanked our department chair for being supportive and told him how much his actions meant to me.
Picked up shoes mended by a local shop and thanked the owner for repairing our favorite sandals--we prefer to not throw anything away if it can be mended!
Brought in a mooncake to work to celebrate the autumn festival
Took beautiful nature photos while on a walk and sent them to some folks who would appreciate them

Paying Attention To Dog π
I bought 2 biscuit packets. My target is to give them to black Dog which became thin and it comes infront of our shop daily. I saw the black Dog. I went towards it. It moved away. It reached a place where there are two other Dogs. I opened one biscuit packet infront of them. The other two dogs started eating biscuits. But this black dog is just looking. After sometime I found black Dog alone. I opened another biscuit packet. It is not believing. It is afraid to eat biscuits. I moved. It smelled and ate biscuits.

Helping One Person At A Time
Many people are experiencing homelessness, around the world, for many different reasons, including trauma, poverty, illness, discrimination.
Today, I saw someone curled up on a bench, near the bus stop.
I felt very sad for him, so I went to the nearby Dollar store and picked up a pair of gloves, a warm hat, water and some ready to eat food snacks.
I am grateful to have a job, shelter, food and more, so I am glad that I can offer some help to others.
He was sleeping, but i quietly told him that I had some items for him, and left them in a bag for him.

I've Been Knitting A ...
I've been knitting a blanket to send to a charity - it's 27 inches wide and 55 inches long - it will keep a young child warm in a cot or keep someone warm if it's spread across their lap. I also knitted a bag which will hold a passport and tickets - I've made a few as presents and this one is for my daughter. The bag is on the left and the blanket on the right.

Career Mentoring
An ex-colleague of mine reached out to me after a long time. He wrote "about eight years ago you mentored me and guided me in my career transition. Thank you for your wisdom and i have had a good ride. But I have just been informed by my manager that I have been impacted in the latest round of layoffs in the company. Will appreciate if you can help me navigate. Thank you" I responded him that am happy to help in whatever way I can. We spoke for an hour, guided him to highlight his experience and accomplishments on the areas that matter. Offered him to refer him as requested and wished him the very best.

π₯£ Soup For Our Neighbor
π₯£ Dropped off enough soup for our next door neighbor & her partner. She is home resting & recovering from almost a week in the hospital. She’s doing well & I thought some hot soup would be in order.
We are long-time across the driveway neighbor-friends and you couldn’t ask for nicer neighbors. Grateful π
