Stories of Kindness from Around the World

Strangers No More!

❀️ The kindness of a stranger…. Yesterday a longtime friend we hadn’t seen in many years visited with us. She recently lost her husband of over 40 years & was getting herself out in the world, visiting friends & some family she hadn’t seen in a long time. She grew up in a beachfront community not far from us & wanted us to to take a drive there to see the house where she grew up. We pulled up in front of the house and she got out to take some pictures & decided to ring the bell and see if anyone might be home. The owner was indeed there, a truly lovely woman who had bought the home from my friend’s parents almost 50 years ago. She invited my friend in & showed her all around the house. They were in there quite some time & when they came out my friend ... Read Full Story >>

Turkey Trio For Homeless Person

I noticed a homeless man sitting outside my local grocery store. I asked him what I could get him to eat, and he smiled and asked me for a turkey sandwich. I went inside and got him a Turkey sandwich, and picked up a drink and some chips too. When I brought it out to him, I told him he can’t just have a turkey sandwich, he needs the trio! He laughed and smiled. I have seen him again since, and I always buy him his turkey trio. His name is Daniel, and he has a beautiful smile. 😊

Showing Appreciation

🦷 Dentist Appreciation …. After a very recent tooth extraction my husband had, our new dentist called that evening to see how he was doing & shared his cell phone number in case he might need to get in touch. We were very impressed with his caring. ❀️ It meant a lot, especially after the recent retirement of our beloved dentist of over 25 years & the anxiety of starting with a new unknown dentist. 🦷 When hubby saw a book, reviewed in The NY Times, titled “Bite, A History of Teeth” he bought it for our new dentist & gifted it to him , with a really lovely inscription he wrote inside, letting him know how pleased we are with him. He was visibly moved & thanked us from his heart ❀️ He knew we were anxious about starting with a new dentist & impressed me, when meeting us for the first time, assured ... Read Full Story >>

Sharing Compliments

I work in a shoe store. My colleague who is only 20 is also my supervisor and technically my "boss" is amazing. For her age she is so mature and gives amazing xustomer service. I often have customers come in when I'm working and tell of how great she is.

This happened today.

And today like every other time it happens I pass the information straight onto her. If she isn't working then I call or text her.

I don't have to do this but the way she lights up every time and the joy it brings her, makes me want to do it more.

Good news (especially compliments) are to be shared ♥️

My health has again turned on me . I need surgery on my plumbing to counteract gravity
Several tests are needed first. Sigh..

Paying Attention To Dog πŸ•

I bought 2 biscuit packets. My target is to give them to black Dog which became thin and it comes infront of our shop daily. I saw the black Dog. I went towards it. It moved away. It reached a place where there are two other Dogs. I opened one biscuit packet infront of them. The other two dogs started eating biscuits. But this black dog is just looking. After sometime I found black Dog alone. I opened another biscuit packet. It is not believing. It is afraid to eat biscuits. I moved. It smelled and ate biscuits.

Helping One Person At A Time

Many people are experiencing homelessness, around the world, for many different reasons, including trauma, poverty, illness, discrimination.

Today, I saw someone curled up on a bench, near the bus stop.

I felt very sad for him, so I went to the nearby Dollar store and picked up a pair of gloves, a warm hat, water and some ready to eat food snacks.

I am grateful to have a job, shelter, food and more, so I am glad that I can offer some help to others.

He was sleeping, but i quietly told him that I had some items for him, and left them in a bag for him.

I've Been Knitting A ...

I've been knitting a blanket to send to a charity - it's 27 inches wide and 55 inches long - it will keep a young child warm in a cot or keep someone warm if it's spread across their lap. I also knitted a bag which will hold a passport and tickets - I've made a few as presents and this one is for my daughter. The bag is on the left and the blanket on the right.

Career Mentoring

An ex-colleague of mine reached out to me after a long time. He wrote "about eight years ago you mentored me and guided me in my career transition. Thank you for your wisdom and i have had a good ride. But I have just been informed by my manager that I have been impacted in the latest round of layoffs in the company. Will appreciate if you can help me navigate. Thank you" I responded him that am happy to help in whatever way I can. We spoke for an hour, guided him to highlight his experience and accomplishments on the areas that matter. Offered him to refer him as requested and wished him the very best.

Powerful Prayers πŸ™

Dear KS community, thank you for your prayers for Dance and to Mish for posting. https://www.kindspring.org/my/feed/index.php?cid=&sid=235511

Just think…our combined prayers encircling the globe sending good thoughts, wishes and positive support - a very good thing.

The power of prayer is not to be underestimated! I read how a man who was having a NDE (near death experience) saw prayers going up to the heavens like fireworks.

That’s how I envision them now, as fireworks, catching the extra attention of the Powers.

I humbly request that you send your "fireworks" a few minutes daily to those in need.

*Today, I exercised and moved my body mindfully in the water with prayers for Down’s Syndrome swimmers being helped by assistants, surgical and medical staff, those suffering and for the Ukraine.

Combining energy with prayer is a powerful way to light up those dark skies!

Drove Almost 300 Miles

Drove almost 300 miles (a little under 500km) to have breakfast at Lviv Croissant's first location here in the States. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely kind and friendly.

I looked at the menu beforehand but completely forgot what I wanted to order because I was so excited to finally be there LOL so I asked the staff what was tasty and said "yes" to the first thing they said.

I brought some of Mindy's Peace Doves for the staff and a bouquet of sunflowers as a gift to the restaurant -- a Ukrainian establishment deserves to have sunflowers brightly shining like the indomitable and unwavering Ukrainian spirit!

The Ukrainian staff helped me practice some of the Ukrainian I have learned and were delighted to take a photo with me and the flag my friend in southern Ukraine sent me :)
